Day in Melville House Newport
The property management company owns several historical homes on this lovely and quaint street. We had reserved a small room in the Melville house but when we arrived they offered to upgrade us to a larger room if we checked in alittle later, which we did. The room they offered was in another of their homes on the street and it was absolutely beautiful. Large king size bed and a bathroom with two vanity sinks. They were thoughtful to offer a black colored "Make-Up" towel for those who need one. My husband and I had to leave at 6am the next morning and the guest keeper, a gentlemen whom I did not get his name, greeted us with hot and fresh coffee at 6am. How wonderful is that. We filled our thermos and slipped out quietly to not wake up the other guests. The parking was located behind the building and our car was easily accessible. We are definitely coming back next year. Thank-you the wonderful team at Melville House and see you next year!

This is a lovely establishment, comfortable, good size room, frette linens and towels. great shower, and ac. complimentary continental breakfast and delicious (paid) breakfast available upon request. The property is centrally located to restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance. innkeeper Rick is very accommodating and helpful. We will go back.

We got upgraded to a room in one of the accompanying inns, our room was called Mrs. Astor. The room was small, but comfortable with a king sized bed. We did not order breakfast. Overall, no complaints. The parking was easy and available, just a little scary pulling out of the lot since it's such a narrow driveway.

Rick was amazing to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the area and his Inns. The room itself had what we needed (ie. bed, AC, shower) however I think a soft renovation of the room could really enhance its beauty. The bed sheets were so crisp and clean, we knew we were staying at a good Inn.

We actually stayed at the Wyncott house not Melville. Great location to walk all over Newport. Rick, the proprietor, was very accommodating. The room was lovely cozy and reasonably priced. We will definitely stay again as our son is studying at the Navel War College in town .
